Room 3 have been learning about our Native Birds. We have seen several species of Native Birds on our school grounds. However we have also noticed the increase in the rat and mice population since our special Hamburger passed away. We decided to set some pest trackers to see what pests were about.

On the very last day of school we were treated by a visit from the RNZB Dance Educator Pagan Dorgan. They were taught a section of contemporary ballet that the company are currently performing. The children had a fabulous time. We look forward to her return.
Room 3 created this play about the need to start reducing, re-using and recycling our rubbish. We all need to change our attitudes about how we dispose of
our rubbish to ensure a sustainable future for all. There was much excitement about the construction of our bike track. We could not wait to try our skills out. Just a few sporting events captured so far this year. Finally we got to go to the Marine Reserve! We had prepared well and were very excited.
Room 3 has been participating in a citizen science project which involves the tagging of monarch butterflies to try and see where they over winter. This is a important project as butterflies as well as bees are pollinators and vital for our environment.
Not the real finished one but just a snippet from the lighting box.
